My "non-traditional" FamilyYou can, on rare occasion, catch my life-companion / life-partner and I taking a walk, bike ride around the community or even out in the canoe when the weather is nice. We have been together in a monogamous and committed relationship since 2003 and have had some amazing adventures together - through life and a couple deaths. It has certainly been a roller coaster at times; especially with my codependency struggles. Despite all the rough times, the good times have been memorable and I can think of no one I could have enjoyed them with more. Ray has my complete commitment and my heart. We are very quiet people and are friendly, but tend to keep to ourselves in respect for others privacy. We have an Italian Greyhound named "Baby", who lives with his grandparents most of the time due to our overwhelmingly busy schedules.
Ray and I live a very 'traditional' family life together despite the fact we are both the same gender and our pet is the closest we will get to having children. I even wear a commitment ring. (Ray would wear his, but someone has gained a little weight and it doesn't fit anymore... lol) We love our community, family and friends. When you base life on Love and Respect everything naturally seems to fall into place. Ray and I share many funny and serious life lessons together. I actually pick on Ray for being like Sheldon Cooper for those Big Bang Theory fans out there. He reminds me a lot of good ole Sheldon. Despite his little quirks I still love him and the feeling is mutual. |
