Even in quantum physics the understanding that we are mostly energy makes a profound statement when we stop and really think about it. What we take for granted is that we only have the ability to see and hear a very small portion of what we know truly exists. We are just starting to use technology to reach into and understand the unseen. One example would be how dogs can hear things we can not, and some animals can see clearly in what we consider pitch black. Our senses have very significant limits that we don't really consider on a day to day basis. You could say we don't often think outside the box when it comes to what exists beyond what we can touch, taste, smell, hear and see. Which by the way is only about 1% of the entire amount of "stuff" in the Universe, pretty amazing when you think about it... Some of you might remember your science classes from middle school, below is the visible light spectrum, it is an excellent example of how our senses are extremely limited and how the use of technology has allowed us to reach beyond our senses limitations. Lower in the page you can see where our ability to hear is limited as well, compared to even other animals. Another concept to wrap your mind around is the Observer Effect in the Double Slit Experiment, please use this link to view the five minute video on YouTube. No matter how you look at all of this, we are far more than just flesh and bone... We do however have a way to reach into more of what exists, even in energy form. As a species we have been doing this since the dawn of time through what today we call prayer and mediation. We can slow the chatter of our mind and reach beyond - we can go outside of the box. Have you ever looked into someones eyes and it felt like time stopped for an instant, and you felt like you were connected somehow? It's a Déjà vu experience and it is very real... Even the Bible points out that "...The Kingdom of Heaven is Within..." more and more scholars are realizing that this is much more than metaphor, but reality. So when we love others and feel that connection, there is much more than just a 'good feeling' we are experiencing. It is our capacity to love that allows us to touch the Divine and reach into the areas we have only until recently imagined and dreamed of. It often makes the magic of medieval times seem like common place practices today for those who have taken the time to understand what truly is outside the box. To all those who are deeply religious - this should not shake your faith. This should throw open the door to celebrate your faith and beliefs in ways you only imagined before. It takes God out of the mysterious and makes our relationship with the Divine more precious and personal then it ever was before - no matter what your personal beliefs. It also tares down some of the imaginary walls we build between each other and helps us start to realize and fathom that we are really all one at the energy level and since we are over 95%, conservatively, energy - that means we are more part of each other than we are separate. ...In reality our senses fool us into thinking I am not part of you and you are not a part of me - when the truth is, we are actually one spiritual being having multiple human experiences... The one common element and key to all of this is opening your heart to love, kindness, compassion and authenticity completely and unconditionally. Next time you have the urge to hug someone out of compassion and kindness, you should allow yourself to do so - after all, it is natural that we make those connections and actually unhealthy that we fight and discard those instincts. As your heart opens, so will your mind and your spirit to what IS. "We live in the world, but we are not of this world..." Blessed Be. While I can't and won't pretend to fully understand any of this, I do find it amazing to open my mind to it and to understand it does exist. While I can't really explain it, it does bring me great peace to simply Know It. NAMASTE! AGAPE! One thing I have learned is that it's not about being straight or gay - male or female - old or young. It's about being human. Its about the connection with others. Love doesn't discriminate or judge - it just is... as I have grown older I have learned what the philosophers meant when they said 'love is blind'... |
